About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Lecturer - Human Resources (pool) to join the College of Business. This is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the College of Business at UCCS, with applications reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as business needs arise. UCCS offers a diverse and inclusive learning environment that fosters innovation, growth, and the holistic development of its students. The College of Business and Administration at UCCS will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Human Resources from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50%25 time) and will be made semester-by-semester. This position will teach one or more Human Resources classes, which may include human resource management for managers, labor/employee relations and engagement, total rewards for motivating and retaining employees, and advanced topics in human resource management. Classes may be on-campus, online, or hybrid. This is a revolving Lecturer Pool for the College of Business. If there is a course opening and your qualifications match a course and the minimum requirements, you may be contacted at that time. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will not sponsor work visas or permanent resident applications for this position. Candidates must already be in the United States with valid work authorization or an employment-based visa. Applicants should either reside in Colorado or be prepared to relocate within two months of starting employment. Requirements

  • A completed bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in these areas.
  • OR A completed master’s degree in business administration, or a closely related field with a minimum of one-year of professional industry experience in these areas is required.
  • Candidates must already be in the United States with valid work authorization or an employment-based visa.

Nice To Haves

  • A terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DBA, JD) is preferred.
  • Applicants with prior and relevant teaching experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instruction to undergraduate/graduate students both in-person and online courses.
  • Maintains, develop and schedules student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.
  • Plans, develops, and implements evaluation tools to assess student process towards course learning objectives.
  • Be familiar with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Other duties as determined by the College of Business.
