About The Position
The Department of Economics at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time lecturers for the 2026/2027 academic year. These applicant pools are used to fill short-term Lecturer positions across the campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may range from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool is valid for the current academic year and will close on May 31st. Applicants wishing to be considered for the following academic year must reapply to the new pool when it becomes available by June 15th.
Requirements
- A master's degree in economics.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the State of California, as per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy.
Nice To Haves
- A doctorate in Economics.
- Experience in higher education teaching and/or research relevant to the course content in the area of instruction.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence.
- Commitment to serving the campus community related to teaching and service.
Responsibilities
- Teach economics courses as needed.
- Potentially engage in research relevant to the course content.
- Contribute to the campus community through teaching and service, as applicable.
