About The Position

The Department of Physics at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for their pool of part-time lecturers. These lecturers serve a diverse undergraduate population. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across the campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool is valid for the current academic year and will close effective May 31st. To be considered for the next academic year, a new application must be submitted by June 15th.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

  • A terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to actively engaging undergraduates in the classroom or laboratory through research-informed pedagogical practices.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve an undergraduate population that is diverse in cultural background, ethnicity, academic preparation, and age.
  • Fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across the campus.
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Physics.
