About The Position

The Department of Classics at The Ohio State University seeks a Lecturer to teach 8 courses for the 2026-2027 academic year. In addition to teaching, the Lecturer is responsible for preparing syllabi and course materials, holding office hours, grading assignments, submitting grades by deadlines, and communicating regularly with students. The role involves planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, meeting scheduled classes and office hours, ensuring curriculum implementation, preparing and evaluating student work in a timely manner, maintaining accurate student progress records, and submitting final grade rosters according to university deadlines. Confidentiality of student information must be maintained in accordance with FERPA.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Completion of all work for the Ph.D. except the dissertation must be completed at the time of the appointment.

Responsibilities
