About The Position

The English Department at Marist University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Lecturer of English with a proven ability to teach First Year Writing and Core Literature courses to begin in August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a mix of ENG 120 (Writing or College) and Core Literature classes. A strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates is required.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in English or related field is required.
  • Teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A Ph.D. in English or Rhet/Comp is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a mix of ENG 120 (Writing or College) and Core Literature classes.
  • Hold office hours.
  • Attend departmental and school meetings.
