About The Position

This is a part-time temporary position for a Lecturer in Geographic Information Systems at UH Maui College. The role involves teaching assigned courses, maintaining office hours, preparing course materials, and working under the supervision of the discipline coordinator. Instructional assignments may include distance education, and evening, weekend, television, or off-campus classes may be assigned. This is not a remote position and requires in-person work.

Requirements

• All minimum qualifications must be from an accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment.
• If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting the minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Native Hawaiian language, history, politics, culture, practices, and contemporary issues.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the discipline for which one is qualified.
• Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
• Prepare course syllabi, grading, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Work under the supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
• May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
• Other duties as assigned.
