About The Position

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-line teaching position in nursing, focused on pediatrics in the Second-Degree Nursing Program. This accelerated 16-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing pathway is designed for adult learners who already hold a bachelor's degree and combines intensive nursing science with hands-on clinical practice. The nursing program is administratively situated within the School of Science at Penn State Behrend, and is offered through the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing. This is a 36-week, full-time term appointment with excellent potential for renewal. The appointment may span Spring and Summer or Summer and Fall semesters, depending on departmental needs. Specific appointment dates and service expectations will be communicated at hire. Onsite teaching is an essential function. The position includes full benefits, and the anticipated start date is Spring 2027. The term length will be discussed during the interview process; continuation is based on university need, performance, and/or funding availability. The position involves teaching pediatrics and potentially other nursing courses, with consideration given to the candidate’s expertise and experience. Teaching may take place in simulation labs, acute-care settings, long-term-care facilities, and other community settings. Faculty also advise students, participate in college and university committees, and engage in service and scholarship as appropriate. Candidates with a doctorate may be considered at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank.
