About The Position

The Department of Anthropology at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for its pool of part-time lecturers for the Academic Year 2026/2027. These are short-term temporary Lecturer positions with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may range from one day to a whole semester. The applicant pool is used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications submitted to this pool are only valid for the current academic year and the pool will close on May 31st. Applicants wishing to be considered for the following academic year must reapply to the new pool by June 15th. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Anthropology.
  • Must be eligible to work in the State of California.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctorate in Anthropology.
  • One (1) year of higher education teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence.
  • Commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and, as applicable, service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach part-time lecturer positions in Anthropology as needed throughout the academic year.
