About The Position

The Lecturer and Computing Education Lead, within the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), will contribute to computing education initiatives, aligning with the goals of the Common Ground for Computing Education and related programs like the AI Educators Pilot initiative. This role supports the delivery and development of core computing education curriculum, primarily within EECS, and advances the Common Ground for Computing Education and MIT's broader educational impact. The position emphasizes interdisciplinary computing education, curriculum design, and instructional innovation, with the lecturer translating foundational computing and AI concepts into accessible, domain-relevant learning experiences for students.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied and Computational Mathematics, or related field.
• Proficiency in evaluating the effectiveness of learning materials and academic assessment.
• Significant successful teaching experience in related undergraduate courses.
• Demonstrated interest in educational innovation.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Working knowledge or familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, statistical software, and analytics tools to analyze big data sets.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
