About The Position

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure-track, part-time faculty lecturer in Analytics on the Portland campus. The college serves undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students on campus and online through more than 90 programs. The lecturer will support the Master of Professional Studies in Analytics, which develops foundational analytics skills for working professionals through experiential learning linked to professional applications. The program prepares students for entry- and mid-level general analyst roles, including data analyst, data specialist, database analyst, program analyst, research analyst, and research associate. Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations. Northeastern University will not provide employment visa sponsorship. The successful applicant must maintain valid U.S. work authorization throughout the appointment without university sponsorship.

Requirements

Master’s degree in an aligned discipline.
Analytics-industry experience.
Demonstrated teaching, coaching, and/or training.
Ability to maintain valid U.S. work authorization throughout the appointment without Northeastern University visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

PhD in a sciences field, or similar.
A history of successful graduate-level teaching, online or in person.

Responsibilities

Teach in analytics instructional areas, including probability and statistics, data exploration, data visualization, database management systems, leadership and risk management in analytics, business support, and predictive analytics.
Support students in developing skills in data preparation, analysis, forecasting, optimization, visualization, and data storytelling.
Contribute to pedagogy and curriculum in ways that foster belonging in the university community.
