Rio Tinto is seeking several Electrotechnicians – Electricians for current and future regional opportunities in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Requirements

  • College diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation & Control and/or AEC in instrumentation, automation, and robotics OR High school diploma or TENS equivalent combined with a DEP in electricity or electromechanics.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in French.
  • Demonstrate autonomy.
  • Possess a C license or be in the process of obtaining one.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in calibration and measurement instrument calibration, production of datasheets and certification reports.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., MODBUS TCPIP).
  • Knowledge of embedded systems (e.g., ESP 8266) and wired and wireless communication networks.
  • Knowledge of real-time data acquisition systems and data processing.
  • Understanding and application of programming languages (e.g., C, Python, R).
  • Knowledge of the aluminum industry.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French and basic knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and/or updates on equipment.
  • Understand and be capable of programming automation systems, including data compilation and computer processing.
  • Provide data and/or services for process improvement or control.
  • Produce technical documents related to work performed.
