About The Position

The general mandate involves the installation, verification, maintenance, and repair of electrical control and wiring devices, as well as lighting systems used on amusement rides and equipment, and all related components. The work is performed under general supervision, with instructions provided orally, in writing, or through plans, diagrams, or various programming languages. The employee is responsible for ensuring high precision in the various ride controls assigned, identifying and resolving any defects. A senior employee oversees the quality of the work. The role includes operating a motor vehicle and performing work at heights within structures. Nature of Tasks and Activities: Install, maintain, dismantle, and replace various electrical, lighting, power, and control systems that operate the equipment throughout the ride, including elevators and electrical rooms, covering all circuits up to the main 600-volt power supply switch. Assemble distribution panels, install surface conduits, run wires, and make necessary connections. Install various electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, switches, and variable speed drives; verify their operation and make adjustments. Diagnose various problems on controls from different brands using programming terminals. On AC/DC controls, variable speed drives, or programmable controllers from different brands, identify and replace defective electronic components or circuits as needed. Install and maintain various safety systems, verify their operation according to industry standards and manufacturer requirements, and conduct effectiveness tests. Perform required inspections in accordance with amusement ride regulations and current laws, and complete necessary reports for equipment operations. Repair and adjust auxiliary installations for generators, emergency motors, and control the rescue system for mechanical rides, performing required tests. Operate an aerial work platform as needed for work on mechanical rides. Ensure the good condition of their vehicle, monitor its normal operation, report any defects to their supervisor, add oil as needed, and refuel it.

Requirements

  • Hold a college or vocational diploma relevant to the function from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
  • Hold a valid Class C electrician qualification license issued by the Directorate General of Labor.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in motor control, AC/DC, variable speed drives, and programmable controls in an industrial work environment.
  • Knowledge of the operation and functioning of relevant vehicles.
  • Knowledge of the principle of electronics.
  • Knowledge of safety and security measures.
  • Knowledge of the operating principle of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Good knowledge of the principles of electricity.
  • Good knowledge of techniques, practices, and tools used in the trade.
  • Good knowledge of the risks of the trade and precautions to take.
  • Superior knowledge of control instruments.
  • Superior knowledge of techniques and practices of tools used for equipment verification and repair.
  • Superior knowledge of programmable controllers.
  • Ability to read plans and interpret conventional and European symbols, as well as electrical drawing methods used for mechanical ride repair.
  • Ability to detect and locate electrical defects on AC/DC controls and variable speed drives.
  • Ability to detect and locate defective electronic circuits and repair or replace them.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.
