About The Position

The Level 1 Service Technician is based at McKesson Automation offices. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform quality control of equipment, as well as to configure, maintain, diagnose, repair, and install automated systems (hardware and software) for customers. This work may be performed internally or on customer sites and may require coordination or collaboration with other support teams or third parties. The work is typically carried out within the assigned region but may be required anywhere across Canada. In addition, travel, after-hours work, and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a time-sensitive environment in an organized and efficient manner.

  • Autonomy and initiative; ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with team members across multiple departments to achieve service objectives and resolve issues involving internal and external customers in a timely manner.
  • Primarily indoor work with minimal to moderate exposure to dust and noise; standard warehouse safety requirements must be followed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • College diploma in electronics, robotics, or electromechanics.
  • Ability to learn and understand McKesson Automation equipment used in pharmacies and apply this knowledge effectively.
  • The incumbent may be required to use their personal vehicle as needed.
  • The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control of robotic equipment with diligence and professionalism.
  • Carry out repairs and required modifications to robotic equipment.
  • Occasionally perform interventions at customer sites. This work may include after-hours support, as needed, with 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Maintain and manage the equipment and parts provided to ensure readiness to respond to service requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and keep the Quality Control (QC) inventory up to date.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
  • Comply with safety rules and demonstrate safe and courteous behavior at all times.
  • Fulfill all administrative requirements.
  • Prepare for and participate in the setup of commercial showcase events, as required (SHOWS).
  • Promote a culture based on excellence and service-oriented relationships with the customer as the priority.
  • Act in accordance with McKesson I2CARE and LEADRx guiding values and principles.
