About The Position

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking an experienced analyst to support the Real Estate Transactions, Transmission team in the review of telecommunication site share applications for the let and lease of transmission facilities, as well as the preparation of related agreements. This role involves procuring information from internal and external partners, presenting transaction summaries, negotiating terms with landlords and tenants, and drafting license and lease agreements. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external Finance representatives, risk management, engineering, and operations partners to coordinate logistics and administrative requirements in all aspects of facility use. The successful candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day transactional processes for the let and lease of telecommunication facilities throughout Canada.

Requirements

  • College diploma or University degree in the area of business management, real estate law, real estate development, or a related field.
  • Four to five years of experience negotiating and administering real estate contracts.
  • Experience in telecommunications or a related field.
  • Comfortable using database applications, and basic office software.
  • Proven ability to analyze the financial aspects of contractual agreements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with different functional groups and levels of employees to achieve results.
  • High attention to detail in the preparation, review and tracking of documentation.
  • Excellent judgment and proven decision-making ability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, strong time management skills, and extremely organized.
  • Bilingualism (English/French - spoken and written).

  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting related to real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze offers (both let and lease) to validate operational requirements and provide recommendations on next steps, including review of technical site related documentation such as site share applications, site plan drawings, etc.
  • Prepare necessary feedback, presentations/written responses to municipalities, tower facility owners, etc. in respect of site use, as may be required.
  • Liaise with client groups including Legal counsel, Risk Management, Finance, Transmission Operations, Spectrum Engineering and Capital Planning project leads for fact finding and gathering of resource data, as may be required internally for negotiation of agreements.
  • Perform activities related to lease administration functions including follow up and delivery of landlord or tenant operational requirements, as well as receipt and validation by external or internal parties of engineering as-built, construction drawings and post inspection documentation.
  • Ensure the timely and effective delivery of transaction approval processes and reporting requirements as outlined by internal or external clients and Corporate objectives.
  • Participate in the budget review process and monthly forecasting and collect and report on non-financial information as required.
  • Provide up to date information on regional transactions to both Senior Manager and team members, as required.
  • Manage numerous projects at one time.
