About The Position

The Leasing Consultant attracts and screens prospective tenants, provides information about available properties, negotiates lease terms, and supports a smooth leasing process. The role is responsible for leasing properties, maintaining high occupancy, and building positive relationships with current residents. Duties include marketing available properties, conducting tours, screening applicants, preparing lease agreements, and providing customer service. The Leasing Consultant works with the property manager and other team members to meet leasing goals and maintain property standards. The position involves responding to prospect and resident inquiries, explaining lease and community policies, assisting future residents with move-in, preparing reports, and supporting resident events. The role requires working at least one to two weekends per month and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong negotiating and sales abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of internet, email, and social media as they relate to community marketing.
Knowledge of property management software such as Onesite, Yardi, RealPage, Knock, RentCafe, or Resman.
Knowledge of business practices and principles.
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
Ability to cope with stress in a composed manner.
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of sales or leasing experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Stay informed about local rental market trends, competitor activity, and industry regulations.
Participate in property marketing events, outreach programs, and promotional activities to maximize property visibility.
Manage the leasing process, including leasing apartments to qualified prospects, preparing lease paperwork, and assisting future residents to support a smooth move-in.
Respond to in-person, phone, and email inquiries; provide leasing information and schedule appointments.
Assist with weekly, monthly, and special reports.
Determine resident needs and promptly respond to resident needs and concerns.
Explain lease and community policies accurately to new and current residents.
Plan, organize, and conduct resident functions as needed and as directed by the Property Manager.
Follow ethical standards, fair housing regulations, and company policies in all leasing activities.
Work at least one to two weekends per month.
