The Leasing Consultant is responsible for the leasing of all apartments. This includes handling prospective resident phone calls, performing miscellaneous clerical duties, and supporting office personnel. The role requires maintaining a strong customer service philosophy while leasing apartments at the highest effective rent level possible. The position also involves assisting in developing and maintaining a resident retention/renewal program, inspecting apartments for market readiness, and assisting with leasing activities and resident relations. The consultant must be aware of competitive communities' rent levels and amenities, as well as community and area facts and statistics. They will also greet new residents, assist with move-ins, verify application data, qualify potential residents, and show model and available apartments. Participation in community-sponsored events and becoming certified as a Leasing Specialist through in-house training are also part of the role. Travel may be required, and limited use of a personal vehicle may be necessary. Occasional weekend hours are also required.
