This role involves leading technical research and interpretation of complex lease accounting matters under ASC 842 and GASB, and other applicable global GAAP frameworks. The manager will provide guidance to corporate and property-level teams, oversee the review, classification, and accounting treatment of all leases, and manage the end-to-end lease accounting lifecycle. This includes onboarding new leases, monitoring modifications, renewals, expirations, and terminations in collaboration with property accounting teams. The position also requires supervising the maintenance and integrity of the lease database and LeaseQuery system, ensuring timely and accurate updates for reporting processes. The Lease Accounting Manager will serve as a primary subject-matter expert, providing technical support to Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock properties regarding lease accounting interpretations, system use, and policy application. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving monthly lease accounting journal entries, overseeing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing lease-related financial data, and preparing and reviewing lease rollforwards, reconciliations, and disclosures for financial reporting. The role involves partnering with corporate financial reporting, internal teams, external auditors, and executive stakeholders, as well as developing, documenting, and enhancing lease accounting processes, internal controls, and standardized procedures. The manager will also maintain and update departmental checklists, workflows, and documentation, demonstrate strong accountability, leadership, and adaptability, model ethical behavior, and perform special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
