About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Lease Accountant to support a month-long lease accounting transformation project. The organization currently maintains lease data across three separate lease accounting platforms and is consolidating all lease information into Visual Lease. The consultant will work closely with the Assistant Controller, who currently manages the lease extraction and migration process. This individual will assist with gathering, reviewing, validating, and uploading lease data into Visual Lease, ensuring completeness and accuracy throughout the conversion. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on lease accounting professional with strong lease administration and system implementation experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of lease accounting experience.
• Understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting commercial lease agreements.
• Hands-on experience with lease accounting software and lease data management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a project-based environment.
• Proven ability to manage large volumes of lease data accurately and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Visual Lease or other lease platform software.
• Experience supporting lease accounting system implementations, conversions, or data migrations.
• Background working with multiple lease accounting platforms.
• Experience in corporate accounting, real estate accounting, or lease administration environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the extraction of lease data from three existing lease management/accounting systems.
• Review lease agreements and supporting documentation to validate key lease terms and accounting data.
• Prepare lease information for migration into Visual Lease.
• Upload and maintain lease data within the Visual Lease platform.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality control checks to ensure accuracy of migrated information.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between source systems and lease documentation.
• Partner with the Assistant Controller and accounting team to support project milestones and deadlines.
• Assist with lease-related reporting and documentation as needed throughout the migration process.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting requirements, however the leases are properly classified in the current platforms. This is NOT an ASC 842 project.
