POSITION SUMMARY: The LMS (Learning Management System) & Talent Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining Hormel’s learning and talent technology ecosystem. This role ensures that all learning programs are delivered effectively through the LMS and related talent platforms. The LMS & Talent Administrator serves as the technical expert for system configuration, testing, reporting, data integrity, and workflow optimization, enabling a seamless learning and talent experience for team members across the enterprise. This position requires strong technical acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders including HR, IT, Safety, Quality, and Operations in a fast paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Business, Information Systems, or related field. (Equivalent experience in manufacturing training administration may be considered.)
  • 3+ years of experience administering an LMS in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with major LMS platforms (Oracle, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, D2L, Docebo, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of training workflows, learning records management, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with reporting and data tools.
  • Experience with content formats (SCORM, xAPI) and LMS testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working with IT teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with manufacturing training requirements (cGMP, OSHA, food safety, quality systems, etc.).
  • Knowledge of AI enabled learning tools or digital learning platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • LMS Administration & Management Administer, configure, and maintain the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manage user roles, permissions, learning assignments, curricula, certification paths, and automation rules.
  • Conduct quality reviews and testing of learning materials to ensure they meet content standards, accessibility requirements, and user experience expectations.
  • Upload, test, and manage eLearning, ILT, VILT, and blended learning content.
  • Partner with IT and vendors on system updates, integrations, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and governance guidelines.
  • Ensure system stability, uptime, and consistent performance across manufacturing sites.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather information, review content, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance.
  • Participate in selecting and managing authoring vendors.
  • Stay up to date on updates to the system through quarterly releases and longer-term upgrades and make recommendations to leadership to improve the experience and interface.
  • Learning Technology Integration: Select and integrate appropriate learning technologies and platforms to deliver learning solutions effectively. This may involve learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, virtual classrooms, and multimedia resources.
  • Talent Systems Administration & Management Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise talent platforms such as performance management, development plans, skills tracking, talent reviews, succession planning, engagement surveying and 360s.
  • Provide data, reports, and dashboards to support enterprise capability development strategy.
  • Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and governance guidelines.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to gather information, review content, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance.
  • Stay up to date on updates to the system through quarterly releases and longer-term upgrades and make recommendations to leadership to improve the experience and interface
  • Compliance, Manufacturing, & Safety Training Support Ensure training records comply with internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits (such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, ISO, and customer audits).
  • Support site training personnel and HR partners in scheduling, tracking, and reporting required training.
  • Reporting, Data Integrity & Analytics Generate dashboards and recurring reports for leadership.
  • Perform monthly audits of user data, certifications, overdue training, and reporting anomalies.
  • Analyze learning and talent data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain data accuracy and troubleshoot issues related to records, completions, user experience, and transcripts.
  • User Support & Training Serve as point of contact for LMS & talent systems questions and needs.
  • Provide support for users across manufacturing plants and corporate departments.
  • Create job aids, quick reference guides, and user training sessions to improve adoption.
  • Translate technical system information into clear, user-friendly guidance.
  • Continuous Improvement & Technology Innovation Evaluate new tools, features, and integrations that enhance the learning and talent experience.
  • Evaluate existing learning tech stack for risks and opportunities, and analyze data and feedback to make improvements.
  • Partner with various teams to streamline processes.
  • Recommend improvements for training workflows, data collection, and system utilization.
  • Stay current on learning technology trends, AI-enabled tools, and best practices.
