About The Position

The Learning Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction and/or tutoring for assigned courses to include, but not be limited to, implementing, revising, and evaluating assigned lessons; utilizing all resources available to innovate and to change to meet program objectives. The Learning Specialist will report directly to the Program Director and/or Coordinator. Hourly rate is $31.82. Anticipated 20-25 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching.
• Experience working with high school students.
• Must have great technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to evaluate student performance, manage classroom, prepare and deliver engaging projects and STAAR based lesson plans.

Nice To Haves

• Our Summer Program requires walking students to and from activities on/off campus if chaperones are needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction and facilitate the learning of students in subject areas such as Science, Math, English, History, or various electives.
• Develop appropriate instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
• Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, supplies, and equipment.
• Provide discipline and order during instructional activities.
• Demonstrate a willingness to be of service and exhibits pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational co- workers, and other general public contacts.
• Other duties as assigned.
