The Learning Specialist supports academic success, persistence, and progression of students across the College by providing individualized, strategy-based academic support and targeted skill development. Grounded in evidence-based learning science and inclusive instructional practices, the Learning Specialist delivers structured support that helps students strengthen academic skills, develop effective learning strategies, and build independence as learners. This role supports a diverse student population, including those with varying levels of academic preparation and those who benefit from specialized approaches to information processing, organization, and skill acquisition. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Developmental Education, faculty, and The Accessibility Office, the Learning Specialist contributes to a coordinated, student-centered approach that connects instruction, academic support, and student engagement to improve outcomes and progression into and through college-level coursework. This is a twelve-month, full-time administrative appointment reporting to the Director, Student Academic Success.
