About The Position

The Learning Consultant is a consultative role responsible for understanding the assigned business line’s strategy, priorities, performance needs, and learning requirements. This role develops learning solutions that are relevant, practical, and aligned with the assigned business line’s goals, context, and measures of success. The Learning Consultant builds sustained partnerships with leaders, subject matter experts, and employees within the assigned business line to develop a shared understanding of its priorities, performance needs, and operating context. The role translates those insights into responsive learning strategies and solutions that strengthen capability, readiness, and performance. The Learning Consultant connects with GL&D and other partners as needed, using enterprise standards and shared resources as guardrails while ensuring solutions remain relevant to the business line’s needs.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of learning and development, HR, business, or managerial experience

Responsibilities

  • Consultation & partnership: Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business leaders and develop a deep understanding of its strategy, operating context, talent, and performance priorities to understand performance priorities and capability gaps
  • Lead structured discovery and diagnostic conversations to identify root causes of performance gaps, including learning and non‑learning factors.
  • Guide stakeholders toward enterprise‑aligned solutions that address the business line’s needs
  • Act as a connector across assigned business line, GL&D, and HR to drive shared ownership and clarity
  • Program design, delivery & governance: Translate business line strategy into structured learning journeys, programs, and experiences
  • Partner with instructional designers, facilitators, and subject matter experts to ensure solutions align to the strategy and to align resources and execution
  • Establish governance routines, prioritization mechanisms, and decision forums to maintain focus and momentum
  • Ensure programs are scalable, sustainable, and integrated into flow of work
  • Measurement, evaluation & impact: Define success metrics tied to capability, readiness, employee performance, and outcomes defined with the assigned business line
  • Apply formal measurement and evaluation approaches aligned to ISO standards (e.g., effectiveness, efficiency, and impact)
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance and inform continuous improvement
  • Communicate impact through clear, executive‑ready insights and storytelling
