In 1922, Woodcraft Rangers opened its doors in Los Angeles and began its mission of guiding young people as they explore pathways to purposeful lives. Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer LifeCraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 2,000 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 150 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, people-centered professional with a proven ability to design and deliver exceptional onboarding and training experiences. They bring demonstrated experience coordinating learning logistics, facilitating training sessions, and supporting the development of staff at all levels, ensuring every team member is equipped and confident from day one. They manage competing priorities with precision and poise, recognizing that operational excellence is the foundation of a high-performing Learning & Development function. They are equally comfortable leading a training session as they are stepping in wherever needed to ensure every detail is executed with care and intention. They communicate with clarity and professionalism across all levels of an organization, build collaborative relationships with ease, and take full ownership of the training experience from initial coordination through facilitation and follow through. Above all, they are driven by mission-centered work and understand that thoughtfully executed learning experiences have the power to elevate both employees and the communities they serve. The Learning and Development training manager leads and oversees a team of Learning and development specialist ensuring the consistent and high quality delivery of the New Employee Welcome Series and all onboarding programs across the organization. This position is responsible for supervising day to day team operations, driving continuous improvement of onboarding processes, and serving as the primary bridge between the Employee Experience team and Human Resources, Learning & Development, and Program departments. The Onboarding Training Manager ensures that new hire onboarding is not only operationally seamless but intentionally designed to reflect Woodcraft Rangers' mission, values, and commitment to building a strong and connected workforce.
