The Training and Development Specialist V serves in a dual role as a curriculum developer and trainer. The position designs, develops, and delivers training programs for DFPS staff through in-person, virtual, and eLearning formats to enhance workforce knowledge, skills, and performance. This role is responsible for preparing learning environments, developing instructional materials, coordinating logistics, delivering training and ensuring training aligns with agency goals and adult learning principles. Trainers provide real-time verbal feedback and guidance to participants to support skill application and knowledge retention. Additionally, trainers collaborate with instructional designers and program leadership to ensure training remains current, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals. Trainers also perform guiding activities such as grading assignments, providing critical written feedback, and coordinating with leadership to implement action plans that promote increased success. Whether focused on content creation, facilitation, or eLearning design, the position plays a key role in building agency capacity, supporting staff development, and promoting consistent, high-quality service delivery across the state.
