About The Position

The Heritage Group is seeking a well-organized and open-minded intern to support its Learning and Development Team. This role offers a valuable development opportunity for individuals interested in a career path focused on enabling internal employees to leverage tools and resources for career advancement and overall support. The intern will assist in designing digital learning content, organizing resources, and applying best practices in instructional design. As part of the People + Enablement Team, this position will collaborate closely with the Learning and Development Manager, Specialists, and the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a passion for contributing to the learning culture at The Heritage Group.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Current Junior or Senior majoring in Psychology, Education, Instructional Design, Communications, or other related fields.
  • 1+ years Marketing and Social Media experience.
  • Familiarity with eLearning tools (Articulate, Rise, or similar) is a plus but not required.
  • A "go-getter" attitude willing to tackle any situation.
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative and be proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Learning and Development Manager and Specialists in facilitating on-site and virtual professional development training sessions, including preparing participant materials, reserving rooms, and arranging catering.
  • Under the supervision of L&D teammates, assist in identifying, designing, updating, and/or delivering learning initiatives that support core curricula in business development, project management, and management and leadership.
  • Attend and observe internal meetings and, under supervision, support the design, delivery, engagement, and/or evaluation of in-house learning initiatives.
  • Gain an understanding of LMS Admin responsibilities and support the LMS Administrator in managing and reporting functions.
  • Attend L&D team meetings and trainings.
  • Receive hands-on instruction in training & development practices and procedures, talent management strategy, training metrics, LMS, and leadership.
  • Assist in designing and developing digital learning content, such as eLearning modules, guides, and job aids.
  • Support content reviews and quality checks for clarity and accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

  • Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing ($18/hour (Freshman) - $21/hour (Senior), etc.)
