About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director - Esports, the League of Legends Coach manages the daily operations of the UCI League of Legends team. The team consists of highly ranked athletes pursuing UCI degrees. The coach oversees the team’s operational activities, including recruiting, tryouts, practices, competitions, and team activities. The role develops strategic goals and in-game plans, tracks cross-regional meta trends, reviews performance through video, studies opponents, and supports team bonding. Other duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.

Extensive champion, role, and game knowledge for League of Legends.
Creative problem-solving, service orientation, program management, sound judgment and decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
Extensive knowledge and experience using Discord, Excel, and other tools to organize, track, and analyze individual and team communication and performance.
Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
Fluency in English.
Proficiency with social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
Experience working in a professional League of Legends league.
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
Red Cross CPR required.
Standard First Aid Training Certification required.
Minimum of two years of coaching experience with a collegiate, amateur, or professional League of Legends team.
Valid driver's license, driving record compliant with local policies/procedures, and/or enrollment in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when practices and competitions are scheduled.
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
