About The Position

Girl Scouts of Utah is hiring a seasonal Leadership Program Coordinator for our Summer Camp Programs at Camp Cloud Rim and Trefoil Ranch! This position plays a key role in upholding the mission of Girl Scouts of Utah by modeling respect, integrity, and service, prioritizing camper well-being, and contributing to a collaborative, camp-wide culture. When not assisting with Program Coordinator duties, the Program Coordinator supports general camp operations, demonstrating flexibility, teamwork, and a readiness to assist wherever needed to provide a memorable and meaningful camp experience for all.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified driver on council’s behalf (clear MVR background, be at least 21 years of age and provide proof of auto insurance and motor vehicle licensing)
  • Hold or be willing to obtain Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certifications or the equivalent.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Utah Food Handlers’ Permit.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain certifications related to specific program areas on the property.
  • Possess good organizational, leadership, and teaching skills:
  • Ability to schedule and manage time, resources, and people.
  • Strong decision-making skills while exercising good judgment.
  • Six weeks experience in a management or supervisory role is required.
  • Ability to follow direction from Team Leaders, adhere to policies, and follow camp procedures.
  • Ability to communicate and work with groups of campers ages 6-17 and provide necessary verbal instruction to campers.
  • Ability to communicate and work with groups of adults and provide necessary verbal instruction.
  • Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in a crisis situation.
  • Complete the council required health forms and documentation to ensure the well-being of living and working in an outdoor camp setting that includes meeting the physical requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for lifeguard certification and high and low ropes course certification.
  • Overnight camp experience preferred.
  • Six months experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and training the Camper in Training Program.
  • As a member of the camp Leadership Team, assist the Camp Director in the development, implementation, evaluation, and administration of the council’s program for overnight camp.
  • Participate in and facilitate camp program and operations.
  • Program areas to include, but are not limited to: waterfront, high and low ropes courses, horses, target sports, pottery, fine arts and crafts, hiking, and more.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. Job duties may be subject to change pursuant to the activities of the camp, camp needs, and the organization as a whole.
