About The Position

This position is part of the Leadership Development & Training team who is responsible for delivery of professional development training programs and opportunities to the Department’s statewide workforce. Extensive statewide travel is a fundamental and essential function of this position to deliver training. The selected candidate will be required to travel FREQUENTLY throughout the State of Florida to perform the duties of the position. The Office of Quality and Innovation (OQI) serves as the catalyst for ensuring high levels of performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. The office seeks collaborative, action-focused, and transparent professionals dedicated to putting quality at the center of serving families.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience in a training environment, training and facilitating adult learners in a classroom environment
  • At least two years’ experience facilitating virtual training sessions using Microsoft Teams or other virtual platforms
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory/lead role
  • At least two years of experience leading and overseeing the implementation of multiple concurrent training and/or initiative projects.

  • Experience delivering Department of Children and Families program‑specific training (e.g., preservice, ongoing program training, policy development, workshop facilitation, rule promulgation)
  • Knowledge of the Department of Children and Families’ organizational structure, programs, and administrative processes
  • Experience coordinating large-scale or statewide training program
  • Experience with state government operations, rulemaking procedures, and administrative requirements/procedures
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with peers, leadership, and program stakeholder
  • Experience coordinating events and presenters, arranging meeting space, managing travel authorizations, preparing materials, collecting feedback, and communicating with participants and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting change management efforts and providing recommendations to adapt processes with minimal disruption

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and delivers leadership professional development trainings offered statewide by Workforce Learning and Development team.
  • Career Ladder. Responsibilities include meeting one‑on‑one with interested participants to develop Individual Development Plans; enrolling participants in the CLIMB system and assigning required courses; training participants on use of the CLIMB system; approving course credit; verifying completion of CL requirements; and submitting Requests for Personnel Action to Human Resources for cost adjustments.
  • Collects feedback from trainers and participants following all professional development sessions. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to recommend updates or improvements to Workforce Learning and Development offerings based on evaluation data.
  • Supports change management initiatives through communication, engagement, and reinforcement of new processes and policy changes.
  • Analyze data, workflows, and processes to develop actionable recommendations
  • Develop plans, reports, presentations, and other materials to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Provide guidance and consultative support to leaders and staff on programs, initiatives, and operational issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and program improvements.
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
