About The Position

The Leadership Development Programs Intern is an internal operations role that supports the day-to-day coordination and administration of CCRH’s Internship Program. This is not a placement within the housing development intern cohort - rather, this person works alongside the Director of Leadership Development Programs as an operational and communications partner, helping keep the program running smoothly across all phases of the program year. This role is ideal for a student or emerging professional with an interest in nonprofit program management, communications, and operations, i.e. someone who wants to build hands-on experience coordinating a real, mission-driven program from the inside. This position is recruited independently from CCRH’s Housing Development Internship Program and is specifically designed for candidates interested in program administration and nonprofit operations. This is an hourly position that reports to the Director of Leadership Development Programs without supervisory duties.

Requirements

  • Preference for students currently enrolled in or recently completed an associate or bachelor's degree program, certificate, or vocational/training program; fields such as public administration, nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related area are especially relevant.
  • Not currently a student but interested in this introductory position? An equivalent combination of work experience, community involvement, and lived experience in leadership development, nonprofit administration, communications, or a related area also qualifies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn common office and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack)
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours during summer (up to 40 hrs/week) and part-time hours during the academic year (20 hrs/week)
  • Interest in nonprofit program management, workforce development, or community-centered work
  • Commitment to community-centered and mission-driven work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with social media content creation, email communications, or digital outreach
  • Prior involvement in student organizations, campus programs, volunteer coordination, or community-based work
  • Familiarity with affordable housing, community development, workforce development, or related policy areas
  • Experience or personal connection to rural, tribal, Indigenous, farmworker, or immigrant communities, or coursework and exposure to tribal sovereignty, tribal housing, or Indigenous community development
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid working environment and proactively communicating with a supervisor and team

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day administration of the CCRH Internship Program, including tracking timelines, milestones, and program deliverables
  • Support with moderating virtual and in-person presentations and panels
  • Help maintain program calendars, scheduling, and logistics for training events and intern activities
  • Assist with tracking intern attendance, participation, and key program milestones
  • Help manage internal tools, shared documents, and program tracking systems
  • Support preparation of materials for host agency orientation and intern onboarding
  • Help serve as a communication point of contact for interns and host agencies alongside the Director
  • Help coordinate check-in calls, virtual meetings, and Zoom sessions for training activities
  • Assist with drafting correspondence, reminders, and announcements to program participants
  • Help monitor intern engagement and flag emerging needs or concerns to the Director
  • Assist with host agency orientation, onboarding process, and supervisor training
  • Assist with student recruitment outreach, including maintaining contact databases, outreach to university partners, and career fair participation
  • Help track recruitment and compile application materials during the review process
  • Help prepare recruitment materials, application packets, and outreach communications
  • Draft social media content for CCRH’s internship program across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Support the development and distribution of program newsletters, email announcements, and digital communications
  • Support communications team with maintenance of program web content and recruitment materials
  • Assist with documenting program activities, stories, and outcomes for reporting and communications purposes
  • Provide programmatic and logistical support to CCRH’s Tribal Housing and Tribal Internship initiatives, in coordination with the Tribal Programs team
  • Assist with event planning, coordination of training sessions, and scheduling for tribal-focused leadership development or internship activities
  • Coordinate timelines, tasks, and communications with internal staff, consultants, mentors, and trainers supporting tribal housing programs
  • Communicate with tribal housing entities, Native interns, and tribal staff
  • Assist CCRH is accomplishing its overall mission
  • Assist CCRH in improving internal and external processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support with office organization
