About The Position

The IGNITE Leadership Development Program is a highly selective, three-year rotational program for talented engineering graduates. It is designed to transform technical potential into business results through hands-on learning and high-visibility assignments. The program aims to provide diverse experiences that will stretch technical skills, build leadership capabilities, and expose participants to the people, processes, and business decisions of a global manufacturing organization. Graduates will learn to combine engineering training with business acumen, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to make meaningful contributions and drive results. The development continues after the program with opportunities to expand skills, broaden networks, and support long-term growth at Flowserve.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering by May 2027.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and desire to build a career as a people leader.
  • Mobility within the continental United States for at least three years to accept assignments at IGNITE program facilities.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Motivation to develop business and leadership skills while working on operational and business critical projects and solutions.
  • Strong organization and work/project planning skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Zero to two years of relevant work experience, which can include internships or co-op experience.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Understanding of data collection and analytics, with the ability to report findings.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic coding experience with Python, Java, C/C++, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Experience with project management tools or methods such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
  • Experience leading teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Understanding of basic business principles.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in three rotations in different US geographic locations, with a site role at each location.
  • Engage in a tailored curriculum supporting the development and application of technical, professional, and leadership skills.
  • Undertake diverse project assignments designed to deliver visible and significant business impact.
  • Learn about the flow control industry and Flowserve's role in critical industries.
  • Focus on leadership development in areas such as connecting effectively, helping others achieve potential, magnifying impact, and strengthening Flowserve as a workplace.
  • Participate in Flowserve Cares volunteer activities, connecting STEM interests with opportunities to inspire future generations.
  • Participate in Target Zero programs focused on achieving zero accidents, defects, delays, emissions, and waste.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to real-world challenges impacting local and global operations (Operations & Engineering Leadership Track).
  • Prepare for roles in Operational Excellence, Materials Management, Supervision, Product Design, Supply Chain, etc. (Operations & Engineering Leadership Track).
  • Connect engineering training to business strategy and enterprise solutions (Business Unit Leadership Track).
  • Prepare for roles in Applications Engineering, Commercial Operations, Business Analytics, etc. (Business Unit Leadership Track).
