About The Position

The Leader in Residence supports both the School Site Principal and Administration and Curriculum & Instruction Teams. This role involves supporting a vision of powerful teaching and learning with an urgency to prepare students to thrive in universities and careers. The position will assist with the facilitation of professional development, running small teacher groups, and providing instructional interventions in core content classes through data monitoring and Tier 2 instruction. Additionally, the role will support Tier 1 school culture and develop teachers in classroom management. The Leader in Residence will also develop coaching plans to improve instructional practices with the Curriculum and Instruction team, support the academic vision, and provide instructional coaching of literacy and/or math teachers through routine observations and feedback, modeling, and co-teaching in alignment with the organization-wide strategic plan and under the direction of the Senior Director of Academics. This role will communicate high-level feedback to principals on teacher development and support of those assigned to a coaching caseload, and develop sustainable action plans that incorporate concrete steps to improve student outcomes in literacy and/or math, with achievable targets until 100% of students are proficient in literacy. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • California Clear teaching credential, required
  • Must be enrolled in an administrative program
  • 2 - 3 years' experience as Teacher of Record
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and interact with employees at all levels of the organization in a positive manner
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • A passion for advancing the education of students in the Central Valley of California
  • Possession of a valid driver's license

Responsibilities
