This position provides technical support in wind blade manufacturing, supporting TPI’s diverse factory and customer portfolio. While a role of direct support, it requires a wide range of ownership, leadership, and accountability in its activities and tasks. The role interfaces with program management, GTPM, quality, engineering, and production organizations to advise, resolve, and revise program requirements, issues, and ambiguities during the new product introduction phase, capturing DFM, PFMEA, and exceptions. The position supports new product introduction as part of a multidisciplinary team, acting as a technical expert in design and manufacturing assessment. It drives process improvement and best practices to reduce risk and increase profitability in TPI operations, and supports technical initiatives with a distributed team to achieve critical technical goals. Additionally, it provides mentorship and technical development for TPI’s engineering resources and supports the creation of global standards, documentation, and processes to ensure consistency, safety, quality, and risk reduction in operations. The role also supports areas of data integrity and data analytics to drive product conformance, performance trends, and capability for identifying areas of action/improvement. It provides technical support for TPI’s local/site-based engineering teams by sharing knowledge and experience in wind blade manufacturing, supporting site activities, reviewing processes, guiding decisions, and supporting the development of composites knowledge. The role ensures decisions are made with necessary knowledge and support. The position supports TPI’s internal audit function by conducting internal reviews of TPI’s manufacturing facilities to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and customer requirements. It develops facility and process risk assessments, identifies areas for improvement, and drives changes to support TPI’s core values of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). It ensures processes and approaches in TPI facilities align with customer design intent. The role supports new material evaluation, approval, and introduction to manufacturing sites, and advises on customer-specified design trials and technical contact. It supports the technical aspects of all manufacturing launches of new/revised products or requirements, and continuous improvement in process, material, equipment, and documentation. The position directly and through the team supports product transfers between sites and supports Root Cause Corrective Action programs. Other related duties and special projects are assigned as needed.
