This position oversees and works closely with high-risk/volatile youth with complex behavioral problems at the Slate Canyon Youth Center. The role involves assessing client needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and conducting counseling sessions. The specialist will identify and apply appropriate security, safety, and control intervention techniques, supervise youth with complex behavioral needs, and write various reports including court reports, parole summaries, treatment plans, and supervision standards. This role also involves leading or functionally supervising staff, delegating work, monitoring quality, scheduling, providing technical assistance and training, and contributing to performance appraisals, hiring, and discipline. Decision-making will be consistent with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The position requires transporting youth and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Successful candidates must pass the Integrated Crisis Response (ICR) intervention program within 90 days of employment.
