About The Position

The Lead Sommelier plays a critical role in shaping and elevating the property's wine offering. This position oversees wine procurement, inventory stewardship, wine list development, and service excellence, serving as the resident wine expert for The Mansion Restaurant. Through outstanding product knowledge, training, and collaboration, the Lead Sommelier helps drive guest satisfaction, beverage revenue, operational efficiency, and associate engagement, contributing directly to maintaining the exceptional standards of hospitality that define Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in wine knowledge and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Hold, or be working toward, professional wine certifications such as WSET and/or Court of Master Sommeliers credentials.
  • Experience within luxury hospitality, fine dining, Forbes-rated venues, or high-end restaurant environments.
  • Highly skilled in wine inventory management, purchasing controls, forecasting, and beverage cost analysis.
  • Comfortable using inventory, POS, and reservation management systems such as BinWise, Accubar, BevSpot, MICROS Simphony, and OpenTable.
  • Ability to confidently educate, coach, and inspire associates while promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret sales trends, margins, and profitability metrics.
  • Communicate effectively in English and enjoy building lasting relationships with guests, associates, and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and maintain exceptional wine programs and wine lists in partnership with the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Deliver personalized wine recommendations, pairings, and elevated service experiences that create memorable guest moments.
  • Oversee wine inventory, purchasing, stock controls, and product movement to ensure accuracy, quality, and profitability.
  • Train and develop Food & Beverage associates in wine knowledge, pairing recommendations, upselling techniques, and service standards.
  • Build meaningful guest relationships while capturing preferences that support personalized and seamless future visits.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure wine selections complement and enhance the dining experience.
  • Monitor beverage performance, sales mix, and cost management initiatives to support financial objectives.
  • Lead wine-focused projects, tastings, special events, and supplier partnerships that keep the program innovative and relevant.
