About The Position

Maxime's is an exclusive private members club located on Madison Avenue, founded by renowned entrepreneur Robin Birley. We are committed to delivering exceptional hospitality, outstanding cuisine, and unforgettable experiences for our members and guests. We are seeking a passionate and service-focused Sommelier to join our Front of House team and help deliver exceptional wine service and dining experiences.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sommelier or beverage professional in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or private club.
Strong wine knowledge with a passion for hospitality and guest engagement.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and upselling skills.
Professional, polished, and detail-oriented demeanor.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume luxury hospitality environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Sommelier certification (CMS, WSET, or equivalent) preferred.
TIPS and NYC DOH certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional wine service to members and guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Curate personalized wine recommendations based on guest preferences and menu selections.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of wines, vintages, regions, producers, and beverage offerings.
Maintain and organize wine inventories, storage areas, and service stations.
Assist with wine cellar management, stock rotation, and inventory counts.
Educate team members on wine offerings, pairings, and service standards.
Ensure all beverage service complies with company standards, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service practices.
Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
