About The Position

SAGE Dublin is seeking an experienced, compassionate Lead RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant for its Emergency Department. This leadership role supports the clinical team, improves department workflows, mentors staff, and helps ensure high-quality patient and client care. The role includes both leadership and hands-on emergency clinical work, with the lead stepping into clinical shifts as needed to maintain coverage and workflow. SAGE Dublin is a veterinary specialty and emergency hospital providing care in Surgery, Emergency, Critical Care, Oncology, and Internal Medicine. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of emergency veterinary experience.
Valid California RVT license or VACSP, or ability to obtain one within 60 days.
Ability to calculate drug dosages, monitor anesthesia, and perform technical emergency procedures.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure clinical situations.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor emergency technicians and assistants and promote a supportive, learning-focused environment.
Coordinate department schedules and adjust staffing levels to meet clinical demands.
Assist with developing and implementing department protocols, training programs, and onboarding processes.
Provide hands-on emergency care, including triage, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and client communication.
Work clinical shifts as needed to maintain workflow and coverage.
Collaborate with other departments and hospital leadership to maintain high standards of care.
