About The Position

Garden State Veterinary Services Woodbridge is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join its emergency team. The hospital is part of a family of hospitals with more than 30 years of history and is located at 1200 Route 9 North, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. Technicians provide emergency veterinary care, including anesthesia and sedation support, procedure assistance, CRI setup, medical calculations, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, hospitalized-patient monitoring, diagnostic sample collection, recordkeeping, radiology positioning and safety, and preparation of blood or plasma transfusions. The position offers a schedule of either Sunday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay is $23–$35 per hour, with an overnight differential. Sign-on bonuses are listed as $2,000 for full-time Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 for Credentialed Veterinary Technicians.

Requirements

CVT/LVT credential preferred, or at least 2 years of technician experience.
Team-oriented, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Compassionate, positive, and honest, with a commitment to excellent care.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Nice To Haves

CVT/LVT credential.
Fluency in additional languages.

Responsibilities

Assist with anesthesia, sedation, and procedures.
Set up CRIs and perform medical calculations.
Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy.
Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate care.
Collect diagnostic samples and maintain records.
Position patients for radiology and follow radiology safety practices.
Prepare blood and plasma transfusions.
