About The Position

Celonis is seeking a Lead Value Engineer with a focus on the Energy sector. This role involves acting as an architect for critical SaaS adoption within major energy and utility accounts. The individual will build data-driven business cases, leverage AI and automation solutions, and drive execution. The Lead Value Engineer will be an expert in the go-to-market organization, linking the Process Intelligence platform to key operational and financial outcomes for energy and utility clients. Responsibilities include managing enterprise health check assessments, facilitating C-suite workshops, acting as a trusted advisor, and developing 3-year strategic transformation roadmaps. The role requires a blend of deep process expertise, management consulting experience, an AI-solution mindset, and strong analytical skills.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in the Energy sector (Oil & Gas, Power generation, or Utilities).
  • Experience in Management Consulting (Strategy & Operations Transformation) is required.
  • Granular knowledge of asset lifecycle management, upstream/downstream operations, grid modernization, and the broader energy value chain.
  • Proven track record of managing the full customer lifecycle, including landing new accounts, expanding footprint through strategic upselling, and driving long-term value.
  • Track record of identifying operational inefficiencies and driving them to resolution.
  • Understanding of how to impact the P&L and manage Capex/Opex through process improvement, AI integration, and scalable technology deployment.
  • Good knowledge of Business Software/SaaS applications and Enterprise Asset Management systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, IBM Maximo, AVEVA, GE Digital APM).
  • Experience presenting to and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complex internal structures and clearly communicate SaaS value and complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, adapting to a rapidly evolving AI landscape, and setting own direction within an account team.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical), Energy Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Industrial & Operations Engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization, SQL, Python, or deploying LLMs/AI models is a strong plus.
  • Additional certifications in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Data Analytics are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify & Frame Value: Analyze client's strategic priorities and map end-to-end energy operations to AI-driven improvement use cases.
  • Target High-Impact Areas: Architect solutions connecting data across the value chain, focusing on critical energy operations like predictive maintenance, supply chain optimization, outage reporting automation, and asset performance dashboards.
  • Build the Business Case: Construct robust, data-backed business cases by transforming operational and cost data into scored, visually ranked use cases with investment estimates and projected ROI.
  • Win Expansion: Build demos, develop value narratives and ROI frameworks, and present directly to C-level stakeholders to generate opportunity pipelines.
  • Assess Value: Undertake customer-facing value discovery and deliver proof-of-value projects for global Tier-1 energy and utility corporations.
  • Drive Engagement Success: Lead the value workstream by designing and deploying AI-powered feedback agents to surface recurring themes and friction points.
  • Orchestrate Improvement: Guide customers on using AI and automation to streamline complex operational workflows.
  • Solve Systemic Challenges: Spearhead process redesigns, embedding HSE and regulatory compliance requirements, and automating end-to-end workflows.
  • Facilitate Workshops: Conduct workshops with C-suite and plant/department leads, scoring capabilities and benchmarking against industry peers.
  • Initiate Change: Conduct customer discovery, define success metrics and KPIs, and run successful pilots.
  • Present Results: Present executive-ready business cases that convert engagements into new revenue.
  • Codify Best Practices: Build client-facing tools to enable enterprise-wide teams to assess automation opportunities.
  • Mentor & Enable: Act as a senior resource, leveraging experience to design scalable operational processes and build performance dashboards.
  • Product Feedback: Serve as a bridge between the customer and Product teams, reducing analysis times and saving operational costs.
  • Manage the Journey: Lead end-to-end value discovery, business case development, and MVP delivery, securing C-suite approval.
  • Build Roadmaps: Deliver multi-year, multi-billion dollar strategic transformation roadmaps for sustainable optimization.
  • Drive Innovation: Provide feedback to product development teams based on hands-on AI agent development, LLM/prompt engineering, and API integration experience.
