About The Position

NVIDIA is hiring its first user experience researcher for IT and employee productivity. This senior, independent role will establish a long-term research practice focused on what makes employees productive and what NVIDIA should build, buy, or change to support them. The researcher will set the research agenda, conduct high-value studies, and raise research standards among product managers and designers. The role draws on existing sources including an annual IT survey with thousands of employee comments from 36 countries, support tickets, and product analytics. Research will inform NVIDIA IT products such as the company intranet and mobile app, IT help and self-service, an AI personal assistant, and secure workspaces for employee AI agents. The researcher will build research capabilities from the ground up, translate findings into recommendations and metrics, and follow through to ensure insights shape roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 12 or more years of experience in UX research or a closely related field, including leadership of strategic, multi-quarter research programs.
  • Master's or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep mixed-methods expertise, including generative field research, survey design and analysis (including open text), and behavioral data analysis.
  • Portfolio or case studies demonstrating research that changed strategy, roadmaps, or investment decisions, not only feature details.
  • Experience researching enterprise, internal, or workplace products used by employees.
  • Proven ability to work as the first or only researcher on a team, set the research agenda, decline low-value studies, and coach others in research craft.
  • Clear writing and presentation skills that help senior leaders reach decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Research experience in AI tool adoption, knowledge-worker productivity, or how teams change their ways of working.
  • Experience in internal IT, employee experience, or workplace technology research.
  • Quantitative depth with SQL, R, or Python, and experience with quasi-experimental designs such as matched comparisons to distinguish adoption drivers from correlations.
  • Experience using LLMs to scale research synthesis and understanding of their limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-quarter research program investigating how NVIDIANs work, differences in adoption of new working methods and AI tools, and tools that could help employees.
  • Identify fundamental improvements to the intranet, IT help, and AI assistant through research into employees' work and needs.
  • Combine field research—including contextual inquiry, interviews, and diary studies—with survey, support-ticket, and product-analytics data.
  • Use AI to scale research analysis while maintaining validity.
  • Select rigorous research methods and help the team determine which decisions need research.
  • Coach product managers and designers on study design, interview guides, and live interviewing, and partner with designers on usability research.
  • Establish a participant panel, consent and confidentiality standards in partnership with HR and Legal, and an insights repository.
  • Present clear recommendations to IT leadership, define experience and adoption metrics with product managers, and ensure findings inform roadmaps.
