Software Engineer, Employee Experience & Productivity
About The Position
Employee Experience and Productivity (EEP), part of IS&T, delivers communication and productivity technology and services across Apple, including collaboration tools and workforce support. EEP also leads user experience design and research and manages systems behind Apple's original content studios. The Software Engineer will join IS&T's Services Technology team to build IT systems for Apple TV Studio & Production and Music operations. The role involves architecting and developing large-scale web applications, owning applications end to end, working across the full stack, and contributing to Apple's technology ecosystem. The engineer will work within a larger engineering team on highly integrated applications and collaborate closely with Quality Engineering, DevOps, Design, and Product to deliver complex, distributed, high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in Java or Node.js, including JavaScript and Vue.js.
- At least 3 years of experience using SQL or NoSQL databases.
- At least 3 years of experience designing and developing microservices and RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud services such as functions/Lambdas.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of containerization concepts such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with DevOps process automation using Terraform, Pulumi, or alternatives.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Experience working with distributed, global teams.
- Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dynatrace or DataDog.
- Experience working in highly integrated systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work and solve problems independently.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools.
