About The Position

The Lead Transportation Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, expert logistical support, and accurate, efficient trip coordination for NORA clients. This role requires a strong understanding of NORA’s regions, bases, and coverage areas, as well as the ability to manage complex transportation logistics and resolve escalated issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 90 days of Transportation Coordinator experience - Required
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, coach, and mentor other team members.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of transportation dispatch operations.
  • Working knowledge of FileMaker.
  • Detailed knowledge of NORA regions, bases, and coverage maps.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, region directors, supervisors, and other staff
  • Ability to adapt training and coaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels of experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
  • Clear, concise and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-focused when handling complex or escalated situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team supervisor with complex logistics, challenging trip coordination, and escalated issues.
  • Provide leadership and operational support in the absence of the assigned team supervisor as needed.
  • Collaborate with the shift supervisor to ensure trip accuracy, communicate updates to drivers and customers, and manage active trips in FileMaker.
  • Serve as liaison for NKR and commercial-related matters when commercial staff are unavailable.
  • Supports in the ongoing development, training and coaching of new hires and current dispatch team members.
  • Communicates regularly with the supervisor team and provides timely updates regarding operational needs, concerns and escalations.
  • Support role-specific customer requests in coordination with OPO’s
  • Oversee assigned dispatch regions and review associated records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
