About The Position
We’re Hiring: Lead Transport Network Engineer! Are you an expert in high-end routing and optical networking? Great Plains Communications is looking for a Lead Transport Network Engineer to join our team in NE, IA, IN, or CO. You will be the technical powerhouse behind our 19,000-mile fiber network. From architecting SR-MPLS solutions to leading new network turn-ups, you’ll ensure our infrastructure remains state-of-the-art for our residential, business, and carrier customers.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Cisco, Ciena, BGP, OSPF/ISIS, and DWDM
- 5+ years supporting large-scale environments
- A team-first attitude with a hunger for continuous learning and mentoring others
Nice To Haves
- Industry certs (CCNP, Ciena)
- Automation skills (Python/Ansible)
- Experience with Accedian/Ciena NIDs
Responsibilities
