About The Position

The Lead Transmission Line Engineer 2 designs transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 765kV, mentors and trains less experienced design team members, and coordinates design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. The role prepares clear, concise reports and studies that meet client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats, and independently reviews other team members’ calculations, drawings, and transmission line models developed in PLS-CADD. The employee is expected to adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.

This position has a hybrid work arrangement: three days per week in the office and two days working remotely. A relocation package may be available depending on location. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12 or more years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, developing conceptual designs, determining design basis, selecting equipment and materials, and preparing and assembling calculations and specifications.
• Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines from 69kV through 500kV.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings created by others.

• Interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to the role; experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued but not required.

Responsibilities
