About The Position

Brella is looking to hire a Lead Toddler Teacher who works with 18-24 month old's and is excited about building a new model of child care that responds to families' varying child care needs, while also delivering the highest quality experiences for children. This role is for educators who embrace change, are eager to learn, take pride in what they do, and see their time with children as a learning opportunity. The Lead Toddler Teacher will develop classroom procedures, manage the classroom's flow of the day, and guide co-teachers to achieve classroom management and quality curriculum implementation. They will also mentor, train, and grow teachers, modeling Brella’s teacher best practices and supporting the teacher evaluation process. Additionally, the role involves actively participating in workshops, training, special events, and Lead Teacher meetings, relaying administration updates constructively and effectively with the team. Collaboration and respectful communication with coworkers to create positive relationships and center culture are key. The Lead Toddler Teacher will manage classroom materials, ensuring a well-organized, developmentally appropriate classroom. They will implement Brella curriculum, develop daily modifications as needed, and demonstrate that target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved. Finally, the role requires acting as the point person for family communication, providing curriculum and development updates.

Requirements

  • Meet all state teaching experience, education and additional state requirements if hired
  • At least 12 ECE units (Required)
  • 1 year of experience in a childcare setting in the U.S. serving in a Lead Teacher role or similar capacity (Required)
  • Ability to be flexible and approach change with a positive mindset
  • Understands effective communication styles to provide feedback to administration, co-teachers and parents
  • Proactively seeks out resources to continually improve performance in self and others
  • Experience mentoring and growing co-teachers with effective collaboration and problem solving skills
  • Expertise in early learning/development and group care settings, including knowledge of current research, regulations, and best practices
  • Ability to model a patient, caring and calm demeanor respectfully interacting with every child

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of early childhood education teaching experience
  • Experience mentoring and coaching other teachers
  • AA/BA degree w/6 administration units
  • Experience in coaching other teachers in Reggio, RIE and Montessori methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop classroom procedures and manage the classroom's flow of the day
  • Guide co-teachers to achieve classroom management and quality curriculum implementation
  • Assume a fair share of classroom responsibilities
  • Mentor, train and grow teachers, modeling Brella’s teacher best practices and supporting the teacher evaluation process
  • Actively participate in workshops, training, special events and Lead Teacher meetings
  • Relay administration updates and information constructively and effectively with the team
  • Collaborate and communicate respectfully with coworkers creating positive relationships and center culture
  • Manage classroom materials (ie - ordering, storing and labeling materials) to ensure maintenance of a well-organized, developmentally appropriate classroom
  • Implement Brella curriculum and develop daily modifications as needed per age group or emergent class interests
  • Demonstrate that the target curriculum engagement/quality elements are being achieved
  • Act as point person for family communication providing curriculum and development updates
  • Model and mentor providing a safe and loving environment for children in collaboration with a team
