About The Position

Valley Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic Lead Therapist to work in a Group therapy setting. The Licensed Lead Outpatient Program Therapist facilitates groups, manages a case load, and provides clinical services to patients served. Duties to include assisting other Therapists in meeting their program goals, provide support and feedback. Job functions within Outpatient includes, completing biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, progress notes, questionnaires, discharge planning, and individual, family, and group therapy as needed. The Lead Therapist will carry a case load and is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through communication with the treatment team. The Lead Therapist performs leadership duties to support program development for the hospital as well as the professional development of each therapist. Lead therapist may conduct treatment plan meetings along side of the clinical director or in lieu of clinical director. Lead therapist will help onboard, mentor, and train new therapist with their job descriptions and competencies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Counseling, Social Work, or a clinical related mental health field.
  • A minimum of two (3) years’ experience in behavioral health, with direct experience in family, group, and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment skills
  • Strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
  • Arizona State license in counseling, social work, or clinical related mental health field (LAC, LPC, LMSW, or LCSW).
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment
  • Management of aggressive behavior (HWC) training within 30 days of employment
  • Must be able to assist in a restraining procedure
  • May be required to work flexible hours
