About The Position

Gulf Coast Treatment Center, a subsidiary of UHS, is a specialized inpatient psychiatric program for adolescent females aged 12-18, dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health treatment and educational services. The center is currently seeking full-time Lead Mental Health Technicians for the first shift (7 am-3 pm), with competitive compensation starting at $18.25 per hour. The role involves working three days during the week (Monday-Friday) and every other weekend, with shift hours of 9 am-9 pm or 9 pm-9 am. Lead MHTs are integral members of the treatment team, responsible for patient care, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, and serving as role models for adolescent girls. They provide supervision, maintain a secure milieu, and are trained to intervene effectively in crisis situations.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous working experience in mental health.
Must be able to pass AHCA level 2 background screen and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
Role models to adolescent girls ranging ages 12 through 18.
Provides supervision in a treatment or educational milieu.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness.
Is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations.
