The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support. For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. The Langan School (a program of the Center for Disability Services) is a private, non-profit school for students with severe disabilities between the ages of 5 and 21. This is a 10 month program, with a mandatory six week summer program. The Lead Teaching Assistant contributes to the mission of the Center for Disability Services and Children’s Services division by taking a lead role in assisting the teacher and therapists with carrying out activities designed to address goals as outlined in the students’ Individualized Educational Programs (IEP’s). The duties may include, but are not limited to; leading a classroom in the teacher’s absence, entering IEP Direct data, daily classroom preparation, as well as all other Teaching Assistant responsibilities.
