About The Position

The Goddard School® of Overland Park (Oakmont) is seeking a caring, dependable Lead Teacher who is passionate about helping young children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships. This role involves leading a classroom, creating a safe and engaging learning environment, and collaborating with a supportive leadership team. Requirements

High school diploma required
State-required pre-service training completed (or willingness to complete upon hire)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of caring for young children
Loves working with young children
Is dependable and professional
Enjoys collaborating with a team
Communicates well with families and coworkers
Creates a positive and engaging classroom environment
Is committed to helping every child succeed

Nice To Haves

CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
1-2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool preferred

Responsibilities

Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using our Wonder of Learning® curriculum
Create a warm, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
Build meaningful relationships with children and their families
Observe and document children's growth and development
Guide children's social-emotional development using positive behavior strategies
Partner with Assistant Teachers to create a successful classroom team
Maintain licensing, health, and safety standards throughout the day
