Requirements

Associate’s Degree or equivalent college credits (60) or current CDA
CPR/First Aid Training
45 Hour DCF Training (or complete within first 90 days)
1 to 3 years classroom experience preferred with PreK population.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with young children with special needs in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

Implements lesson plans including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for the classroom.
Assists in administering assessments/program monitoring.
Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
Utilizes and ensures consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
Performs teacher duties in his/her absence.
Keeps up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.).
Provides caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean).
Maintains positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
Attends required trainings, meetings, and events.
Ensures the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
Ensures compliance with procedures, requirements, and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
