The Lead System Integration Engineer contributes to system integration and testing for a next-generation vehicle controller and software platform. The architecture integrates advanced software functions for cloud connectivity and edge processing, supporting highly automated driving and advanced connectivity features. The role calls for experience in system integration and testing, system-level root-cause analysis, systems engineering, and vehicle architecture development. The primary focus is integrating ECUs on a system bench and ensuring their software functions without issues or vulnerabilities. Activities include flashing ECU software and testing communication across Ethernet, CAN, and LIN; software stability under stress; diagnostics; and cybersecurity features. The engineer may set up and maintain system benches, including ensuring the test environment is remotely accessible. The work follows a cycle of testing, analyzing results, and implementing remediation to improve the overall security posture. The role also involves reviewing requirements, developing test cases using Python and CAPL scripting, automating test execution on CI pipelines, and analyzing results. The engineer works closely with software design and architecture teams and cybersecurity experts, partnering with development engineers from early design through system validation. This includes integrating early implementations and requirement models, challenging design and logical architecture early, and working toward a strong end-to-end system experience. The work spans design verification, architecture verification, code and script development, system integration, and product validation.
